Join the Barbican Arts and Crafts Market

Showcase your talent at the Barbican Arts and Crafts Market. We’re inviting local artists and makers to join a vibrant community of creatives in this popular summer event. Whether you’re an experienced trader or new to showcasing your craft, we’d love for you to apply.

Event Details

The market will take place on the following dates:
July: 13th, 20th, 27th
August: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st
September: 7th, 14th

The venue is Pier Masters House on Plymouth Barbican. Each market runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with access for traders from 9:30 AM. All traders must be fully packed up and the space cleared by 5:00 PM.

Applicants can select as many dates as they like but will be accepted for up to three to ensure variety and avoid repetition of similar offerings at each event.

Parking and Access

There is no on-site parking at Pier Masters House. However, the nearby Elphinstone Car Park (Madeira Rd, Plymouth PL1 2NU) is available for unloading and parking. Please note this car park gets very busy during the summer months, so we recommend arriving early to secure a space.

Table Options and Costs

We offer two options for stall setup:

  • Single Table (80x100cm): £30

  • Double Table (two 80x100cm tables): £60

Please note that the tables provided may be smaller than you are accustomed to, but due to storage limitations, it is not possible to bring your own tables. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

Payment must be made within two weeks of your application being confirmed. Failure to do so, or to contact us regarding payment, will result in your place being forfeited. Payments are non-refundable if you cancel.

Additional Requirements

  • All traders must hold public liability insurance.

  • If you plan to sell food products, you must have the appropriate licences.

  • No electrical outlets are available at the venue.

  • Card readers are essential as there is no WiFi available on-site.

  • As the venue is a restaurant, we cannot accept applications from fresh food sellers, baked goods vendors, alcohol sellers, or anyone offering products that would compete with the restaurant. Pre-packaged confectionery and similar items are acceptable.

Gift Voucher Program

To promote the market on social media, we will be offering gift vouchers as incentives. If a trader’s goods are redeemed using one of these vouchers, the cost will be reimbursed within seven days of redemption.
