Nikon TW2 - Dual Lens Charm from the 1980’s
Lens: 35mm f/3.5 4 elements in 3 groups / 70mm f/6.8 8 elements in 6 groups
Film speed settings: 64-1600 ISO DX Auto
Film Format: 35mm
Focusing: Stepless infrared active autofocus
Battery: 1 x CR-P2
Size: 136 x 72 x 47mm
Weight: 310g w/o battery
Year: 1987
Country: Japan
The good:
For a nearly 40-year-old camera, it is in remarkably good condition, there are a few scuffs here and there, but very minimal.
Shutter fires well and appears to be roughly accurate in terms of speed.
Film transport is fine.
The soft-focus filter is a delight to use.
Viewfinder is clear.
Lens is in good condition.
The less good:
When I first turned the camera on, and tried to extend the lens, it tried, but failed. By the end of the first roll, it would extend just fine. My guess is that it had spent many a year hidden away and needed a little bit of time to loosen up.
The camera tends to er on the side of exposing for the shadows. This is a plus to me, but something to be mindful of
The manual for this camera is a little hard to find, below is an English language one for a very similar camera, and a German language one for the camera.
